General Membership Information

Feb 10, 2009 by Peter Rüsch

Memberships of the club are open to all that are willing to abide by a simple set of rules, listed below.

This is a cycling club, with the emphasis on group rides and continuous self-improvement. Skills and fitness levels in the club vary considerably, you will most likely find that with training you will be able to keep up with one of the groups. Groups form around the skill and fitness levels of individuals, and generally the members present know each other and who 'belongs or rides' at what level. If you are new, don't be afraid to ask!

General Fitness

Participating in group rides can be considered strenuous exercise, if you have not done this before, or have recently taking up riding, we strongly suggest that you consult a doctor first, especially if you have been inactive prior to joining the club.

Non-Members

Due to insurance reasons we cannot allow non-member participation in any club-rides.

Club Rules

The following rules are the club rules. There is an additional Riding Etiquette that you should read as well:

1. You must be a paid up member of the Cyclissimo Cycling Club to participate in club rides.
2. All riders must abide at all times by the Highway Traffic Act.
3. Helmets must be worn at all times. Other protective items such as gloves, sunglasses and skin protection are recommended.

7. Only Club Rides scheduled on the Club Calendar shall be deemed to be Club Rides. For insurance coverage to be valid, all club rides must be planned and reported to the OCA in advance, refer to OCA 2009 Rules & Insurance Guidelines. Any Casual Rides not scheduled by the Club and reported to the OCA in advance may not be covered by the Insurance. Casual Rides are not sanctioned by the Cyclissimo Cycling Club, and the Club and it's Directors shall not be held responsible for any violations of this rule.
